I am very much out of the fashion loop and very, very rarely get my hands on any kind of fashion magazines these days. In a past life I used to read Dazed and Confused, The Face, Paper and the like but it’s been a good 10 years or so since I plunked down for those.

I have a question for people who do read fashion magazines: are the digital cut-ups that young women are making of themselves wearing various clothing something that resembles what is currently appearing on the pages of established magazines or is this a DIY meme on the fringes? I think its a great little microcosm and the idea of a little personal, digital cut-up world of fashion on flickr (perhaps not unlike the bedroom electronics music scene) is very appealing to me.
